Little Moreton Hall, Congleton

Little Moreton Hall is Cheshire's most iconic black and white Manor House. This moated, 500 year old building with its drunkenly reeling South Range and tightly enclosed, cobbled courtyard is little changed since it was first erected, and the skill of the Tudor craftsman is etched into every timber. The various delights of this unique property include some remarkable wall-paintings, a pretty Knot Garden, the family chapel and the withdrawing room. As you climb the twist of stairs to the Long Gallery you can almost imagine life here in Tudor times.
